Garden
Grounders & Growers · Ground Builders
Plant something. Tend it. Watch it teach you patience.
The Garden course is the heart of TEK8 — the Earth petal, where smell meets spiritual capital and Indigenous knowledge. This is where learning becomes grounded, literal, seasonal. You will plant seeds, build soil, track seasons, and learn from the land itself. The D6 is the die of Endurance: gardens teach what no classroom can.
"Where does the ground remember what the sky forgets?"
Curriculum: 8 Modules
Each module builds on the last. Work at your own pace. Share your progress in the community.
Soil & Soul
What is soil? Microbiome, mycorrhizal networks, composting. The ground remembers what the sky forgets.
Seed Sovereignty
Heirloom vs. hybrid vs. GMO. Seed saving, seed libraries, and the politics of who controls what grows.
The Planting Calendar
Phenology, frost dates, companion planting. Learning to read the land's calendar, not the school's.
Indigenous Agriculture
Three Sisters, forest gardens, controlled burns, salmon integration. 10,000+ years of ecological knowledge.
Garden as Classroom
Math in spacing. Science in germination. Art in design. Ethics in sharing. The garden teaches all 8 petals.
Harvest & Preservation
Canning, drying, fermenting, freezing. What you grow, you keep. What you keep, you share.
Rest & Stillness
The fallow field. Winter dormancy. Meditation in the garden. Why doing nothing is the hardest work.
The Garden Root
Final project: grow something from seed to harvest. Document the full cycle.
Your Place in the Crystal Cycle
The Crystal Cycle is a 10-step daily rhythm. The Garden guild owns step 6 — REST.
REST
Mandatory pause — garden, tea, silence, breath.
"What does stillness teach me?"
Remember: The Crystal Cycle moves through ALL 8 petals every day. Even when you specialize in Garden, you'll engage with every guild through the daily rhythm: Coin, Music, Gather, Craft, Quest, Rest, Play, Map, Yield, Close.
Your Weekly Rhythm
What a week in the Garden looks like:
Spend time in a garden (yours, community, or wild)
Plant, tend, harvest, or compost something
Learn about one Indigenous agricultural practice
